I promise this will be my last missive on the subject of thank you notes. It is such a critical discipline for personal branding that when I come across something good on the subject I can't resist.
Tom Chiarella's article on the subject of handwriting thank you notes which appears in the April, 2007 issue of Esquire magazine is a must read. If you don't get it after reading this article hang it up!
Thanks to the greatest commercial title broker in the world, Connie Mahoney, who found the article and passed it on to me. How Connie got an April, 2007 article in March is the mystery of the week!
Here's a tip one of my clients gave me which has been very useful for staying on top of writing notes. Write your handwritten notes first thing in the morning.

I am such a believer in handwritten notes. Not just thank you notes, but all personal notes. I got one about two months ago with just a simple line of encouragement from a busines associate I admire. I keep it beside my desk to this day. Can't say I would have kept it as an email.
Make them authenic and they are very powerful.

Tim,
Will you be making Tom Chiarella's article on the subject of handwriting thank you notes which appears in the April, 2007 issue of Esquire available?
Don't hold back...
Thank you.
