I am such a believer in handwritten notes. Not just thank you notes, but all personal notes. I got one about two months ago with just a simple line of encouragement from a busines associate I admire. I keep it beside my desk to this day. Can't say I would have kept it as an email.

Make them authenic and they are very powerful.
